Condom use among females with older, male sexual partners is well-documented in South Africa. To a far lesser extent, condom use among males with older same-sex partners is known. The purpose of this study is to determine the association between age of older same-sex partner and the likelihood of condom use among young males in South Africa. Methods: In this study, data from Fourth South African National HIV, Behaviour and Health Survey 2012 are used to estimate the level and sociodemographic factors associated with inconsistent condom use among young (15-24 years old) males with older same-sex partners. Descriptive and analytical statistics are used. About 55.51% of youth with older (1-5 years) partners use condoms inconsistently. Also, young males whose partners are 6-10 years (odds ratio: 0.47) and 11 or more years (odds ratio: 0.58) are less likely to use condoms consistently.
