This study explores whether women's employment is associated to fertility reduction in urban West African context and weather the results differs according to spouse’s employment. Twelve recent Demographic and Health Surveys are used with survey period ranging from 2010-2017. When we consider unobserved heterogeneity, preliminary results show that working on own business or for a family member, for a woman, is positively associated with fertility limitation, compared to women who are not employed. The magnitude of this effect depends to spouse’s employment type and countries context.
