Marlene A. Lee, Population Reference Bureau
The workshop will provide hands-on experience in calculation of population change and economic outcomes, focusing on labor productivity, under two fertility scenarios using the Canning-Karra-Wilde (CKW) model. In the population and development field, among models that attempt to demonstrate the potential demographic dividend resulting from a demographic transition and change in population structure, the CKW model is the only dynamic model of economic growth over time. Analysis undertaken with the CKW model may be accomplished with the spreadsheet developed by the model’s authors. The Population Reference Bureau has worked with Karra and Wilde to make the model calculations more accessible to researchers who may wish to apply it to other high fertility countries. If you would like to participate in this workshop, please fill out the Expression of Interest Form by Monday, November 4. The link is available in the extended abstract.
